Down the Drain

610 million dollars on an election

to prove what?

88 million to advertise a virus

As if we needed to be reminded

And persuaded to stay divided

But the government is not a human to confide in

Not the warm hand by your death bed

Just the tax man

There to collect debt

And suddenly you put your neck out

Because you’re scared

Of what they shout

On repeat.

It’s quite the feat

To convince a population

That their neighbor subscribes to delusion

Whether they do or not

It just causes more confusion

Distraction from the truth and

If we stay along this path

Our say becomes moot.

Remember that at the base we are human

Animals in nature

Not defined by words on paper

We owe nothing

They own nothing

Those plastic bills printed with a queen

are debt

Continuing to cycle

But the grass is free

The trees will grow

The weeds we see

Don’t need to go

The more you see

The less you know

But embrace the hour

It is your power

To live without chains

If only you knew

That all those restraints

You’re held by

Are only in your mind’s eye

And when you look to the horizon

You’ll see the sky.

Life is not defined

By what’s on your ID.

Don’t be coerced to see

That you are just a cog

At the mercy of the machine

Stray away from this analogy

Because the “money”

Has no value

If it is so easily burned on

Theatrics

Then why are we so ecstatic

To work our whole lives

To pay off debts

That go nowhere.

The earth is here to share

So are moments

So is caring

For the land

And for our families

It can be seen so plainly

When our farms are sprayed with chemicals

That only cause inflammation

And immune system depletion

And now drugs serve us the cure

When they’re really in correlation.

It’s the land of OZ

You can click your heels

And return to simplicity

Or remain in your complicity.

I’ll be here smelling the flowers.

Come when you’re ready.
